Daniel Lafferty is a woodfire potter with a Diploma of Visual Art obtained at the Canberra School of Art in 1982. In 1990, he and his wife, weaver Gabrielle Powell, set up their Bandicoot Pottery on a property near Cobargo, NSW. Lafferty has built two woodfired kilns there - an anagama kiln and a trolley kiln - and fires them for 70-120 hours duration. He uses locally sourced raw materials for his work, which is Korean inspired. In 2014, he convened an international woodfire festival at nearby Mystery Bay. His marks are an impressed 'Bandicoot Pottery' or 'Bandicoot Pottery Cobargo NSW'.
