Gary Hambleton

Gary Hambleton is a Western Australian potter who learnt his throwing skills while working with Courtlands Pottery in Belmont and also spent a summer at Happs Pottery in Dunsborough. He was the resident potter at the Cheese Factory, Balingup, with Wendy Wishart, then set up the Old Stables Pottery at nearby Mullalyup where he operated for a number of years in the 1990s. There, as well as making a wide range of functional ware, he produced larger one-off pieces with copper red or glaze-over-glaze decoration. His works are incised 'GH', 'Gary' or 'Gary osp' for Old Stables Pottery.
