Kaye Pemberton trained and worked as an art teacher in country South Australia before becoming a studio potter. She spent time as a tenant at the Jam Factory in Adelaide in 1984 and 1990, and worked in various places in South Australia, and in Alice Springs, before moving to Canberra, where she completed a Graduate Diploma in Fine Arts at the ANU School of Art in 2001. . She has taught art and ceramics for three decades and has been a sessional teacher in Ceramics at the ANU School of Art since 2001. She has a studio in Ainslie, where she specialises in domestic ware and 'the ceremonies of daily living'. She signs her works 'Kaye Pemberton' and also uses an impressed 'KP' seal.
