Redbyrne Potteries

Redbyrne Potteries (1975-2002) was the largest producer of hand-thrown pottery in Victoria. Located at 225 Old Dookie Rd, Shepparton, Victoria, it was set up by Robert Waterson who employed a range of throwers to make functional stoneware to his design. These included Gilbert Buchanan, Chris Cheer, Graeme Day, Mark Lepp, Steven Elliott, Robert Henderson, Cathy Thompson, Noel Townsend and Craig Willis. Items are impressed 'Redbyrne Potteries Shepparton' and the mark may also include the individual thrower's name. Before closing in 2002, the business had started specialising in garden and nursery products according to directory listings.
